The Nevada Recreation and Park Society (NRPS) will be recognizing professionals, citizens, and excellence in parks and recreation programs at the 2015 NRPS Conference. You may click the links below to apply online.  We are not accepting mail-in award applications. *If you are paying with a purchase order then when you are filling out the registration form, please mark “Pay Now – No”, we will send you an invoice for the amount of award applications submitted.

NRPS is a nonprofit professional organization comprised of people in the recreation, parks, leisure, and related industries in the state of Nevada. The group became affiliated with the National Park and Recreation Association in 1964.

Elmer H Anderson Park Excellence AwardsClick here to nominate a project

Purpose

Recognizing excellence in park planning, design and construction throughout the State of Nevada.

Categories*

  • Regional – Large park and recreational projects intended to serve wide segments of the State or large geographic regions. Multi-jurisdictional projects are encouraged.
  • Community – Park and recreational projects intended for use by local residents within certain geographical or political boundaries.
  • Neighborhood – Intended to serve a small, distinctive area or section of a community.
  • Special Feature – Unique and/or special recreational projects including public art, arboretums, museums, libraries or other unique elements highlighted at a park facility.
  • Commercial – To include casinos/resorts with unique or special attractions which add aesthetic or recreational value to the community.
  • Park and Facility Renovation – Renovation projects to an existing facility.
  • Trails/Nature Areas – Enhancements of natural areas and/or trail systems. May include wetlands, lakes, rivers, or other natural features.

Recipients will receive their award at the 2015 NRPS State Conference Awards Luncheon.*

*All agencies/individuals submitting entries will be notified by email prior to the State Conference as to whether or not they have won an award.

*Purpose – To recognize excellence in recreation programming throughout the State of Nevada.

Categories – The Program Excellence Awards will be given in the following subject categories:

Children Health/Fitness New Recreational Concept:

  • Teen Outdoor Co-Partnership
  • Senior Sports Special Event
  • Staff Development Inclusive
  • Program of the Year – Awarded to the highest scoring program from all submittals in all categories.

Recipients will receive their award at the 2015 NRPS State Conference Awards Luncheon.*
